AUCKLAND 3-4 hours drive. 35 minutes by air from Kerikeri.
TOTARA NORTH 3 minutes boat ramp and wharf. 3 minutes GumStore Bar and Grill.
KERIKERI 35 minutes. Big shopping centre and tourist centre with large supermarkets, many cafes restaurants, vinyards, historic sites etc.
KAITIA 40 minutes. Gateway to Cape Reinga and 90 mile beach. Large shopping and tourist centre, arts and craft.
KAEO 15 minutes Local shops and supermarket, local restaurants.
WHANGAROA 5 mins by boat. 15 minute drive. Game Fishing Club, restaurants and pub. Small village shop.
MANGONUI 20 minutes. Attractive harbour/fishing town. Restaurants, heritage trail. Excellent Fish and Chip shop on jetty.
Totara North a small community with a big history. Once the site of the biggest ship building and milling industry in the Pacific, today fishing, farming, oyster farming, cottage industries and un-intrusive tourism provide much of the employment.
The Cedar House is 3 km from the Totara North turn off, SH10. Follow Department of Conservation directions to the Wairakau Stream Track, orange triangles and our house sign, mark the way.
